About Me

Being outdoors and experiencing things for myself has always been an important part of my life. I was born in Germany in 2009 and grew up in a forest kindergarten. Later, I attended a Free Alternative School where nature, wilderness, technology, and practical skills played an important role. I made the most of every opportunity to spend time outdoors, try new things, and gain practical experience.

Over the years, I have had many different experiences in nature, including spending nights outdoors—even in sub-zero temperatures during winter—coasteering in England and taking part in reforestation work in the Harz Mountains.  

​

I have also gained a great deal of practical experience in traditional crafts and construction. For more than six weeks, I helped build a traditional roundhouse made from wood and clay. The work included processing timber, constructing the building, and working with clay. Projects like this fascinate me because, in the end many individual steps come together to create something that I helped build myself.

I am a very practical person. Purely theoretical learning is less suited to me—I learn best when I can try something out, touch it, and do it myself. I often learn in phases: when a subject genuinely interests me, I can become completely absorbed in it and spend a great deal of time exploring it. Eventually, my curiosity is satisfied and something new captures my attention. This is how I have developed knowledge and experience in many different areas.

Sailing has also become one of my interests. I first sailed in the Mediterranean about four years ago. Since then, I have remained fascinated by sailing, and I have now obtained my first sailing certificate. This allowed me to spend a week sailing on a Viking ship in Denmark this year—a unique experience that combined history, teamwork, and life on the water.

I enjoy hiking and climbing, canoeing, running, and playing volleyball. For me, it is not just about the sport itself. I enjoy spending time with other people, working as part of a team, and sharing experiences and achievements. I am equally happy spending an evening playing board or card games.

​

I grew up bilingual and speak both German and English fluently. My family is an important part of my life. I have a younger brother who is two years younger than me. Together with our dog, Skye, we live in a more than 300-year-old half-timbered house. I have helped with its renovation from an early age, which is probably one of the reasons for my enjoyment of practical work and making things myself.

We spend a lot of time together, eating and playing games, and we often travel as a family. On many holidays and trips, we have discovered new places together, including South Africa. These shared experiences have shaped me and strengthened my curiosity about other places and ways of life.

​

I pay close attention to my surroundings and often notice small details. At the same time, I do not need a fixed plan for everything. I want to try things out, gain experience, and discover what inspires me. Many of the photographs on this website show exactly these kinds of moments—people, places, experiences, and activities that are part of me and my life.
